Best Time For Safari: Though the safaris function all days but the timings are a little restricted, for your own safety. Safaris take place from early in the morning to late afternoon/early evenings. Besides, timing, the special tip for visiting at the right time and sighting animals in abundance is:
- September To March – The Cold Winter Time: This time is ideal and pleasant for bird watching and roaming around in the safari.
- April To June – The Hot Summer Time: The time could be a little inconvenient for some but being situated near hilly areas the temperature remains moderate. But the best part is – it is a great time to sight the best of animals: Tigers and Elephants walking right in front of your eyes.
- July To August – The Wet Monsoon Time: Now this is one of the most adventurous but a little humid time of the year to visit Corbett. However, it is best suited for taking walks in the park area, do trekking, and due to the less rush of visitors (for obvious reasons) it is also a good time to spot animals and observe the lush greens and colorful fauna spread across the park, up close.
Jhirna Safari
It is the only place in the entire Corbett area that is open for safaris all throughout the year, without any restrictions. The area zones a beautiful and cool and absolutely fresh waterfall that will let you experience a high lift in the mood and energy.
Sitavani Corbett
Sitavani is situated 35 Km from the Corbett Retreat but falls within the forest area only of Ramnagar division of forests. It is the best area to closely feel the vegetation, grasslands as well as riverbeds. As the name suggests, the place has a touch of the Indian Goddess Sita. A very old and ancient temple of the Goddess is Sita is situated in this part of the forest, which according to tales is the very place where the goddess disappeared into earth.
Also, the area doesn’t compromise on the excitement quotient as early morning visit to Sitavani in a Jeep Safari is the best time to spot a number of other wild animals like the porcupine, sambar deer, tigers, and also king cobra. The animal spotting surprise element is not as surprising as it may seem because the area has a riverbed which is regularly visited by animals for quenching their thirst.
